IMPORTANT: This is a custom DIY front view camera kit created specifically for the F30 kidney grill — it can’t be mounted on any other model. Before buying it, please make sure that your kidney grill looks exactly the same as in the picture in the 'Installation' section of this page. In the event it doesn’t match your vehicle, we don’t take any responsibility.
This BMW 3-series BMW aftermarket front view camera allows you to:
  • See the full width of the front of your vehicle thanks to the wide-angle lens
  • Notice obstacles that are normally hidden from your vision
  • Observe the front view full-screen on your native iDrive display
  • Save money on expensive bumper repairs
This BMW front view camera retrofit overrides the native screen mode when activated. You can change the settings to activate or deactivate it by holding a button on the iDrive Controller, steering wheel, or radio face plate.
The front view camera is ideal for drivers looking for a flexible exterior parking camera solution that leaves room for customizing and expanding your vehicle’s features. This kit includes a Multimedia Interface ( MMI ), a BimmerTech original module that makes it easy to add a rear view camera or one of our mirroring devices (SmartView HD Flex, SmartView HD Apple TV3 or SmartView HD Apple TV4).

Installation
In order to add front view camera to BMW, you need to have about 2+ hours available. During the DIY front view camera installation, you will have to route the extension cable from the front bumper to the head unit where the MMI will be installed. After doing that, it’s necessary to squeeze in the camera between the grill ridges. 
In order to install the MMI , you will need to remove the trim that covers the head unit and pull it out to connect the multimedia module. The MMI can be mounted above or under the head unit, if there is enough space, or in the glove box compartment.
The BMW front view camera kit contains all the parts necessary to add this retrofit to your car:
  • Front view camera 
  • Multimedia interface ( MMI )
  • Front view camera wiring harness
The installation is 100% reversible and doesn’t require any internal or external modifications to your car.
