If available in your BMW, Apple CarPlay lets you connect your iPhone to your BMW and use iOS apps on the built-in dashboard display. You can listen to music, make calls, get directions, send texts and more — all while staying focused on the road. With the help of Siri, you can do all these things without taking your hands off the wheel.

The iDrive interface has been a mainstay in BMWs since it was launched in 2001. Although this initial version was pretty cumbersome to use and wasn't exactly attractive, the system has since come on leaps and bounds.

BMW’s Digital Key is another high-tech project that only proves the company’s leadership position in modern car technology. It is nothing less than a car key app for iPhones and smartphones that allows you to conveniently unlock and lock your BMW or even start the engine without using a physical key. Stored securely in your ConnectedDrive app or Wallet app, the Digital Key also gives you the option of sharing your key access with up to 5 other people!

iDrive is BMW's native infotainment system, through which drivers can access a range of content on the dashboard screen. This content includes vehicle settings and journey data, as well as more typical infotainment features, such as navigation, music and communication. The system is a combination of hardware and software.
